Meet Tori

Meet Tori
This sweet girl has the biggest heart and the softest eyes, she just wants a human (or humans!) to call her own. Tori adores people and gives her whole heart to them. She’s happiest soaking up love, attention, and a good belly rub.
Tori would thrive as the only pet in her home, she wants to be your one and only!
If you’ve been waiting for a loyal, affectionate companion to brighten your days, Tori’s waiting to meet you.
Okay, seriously… how is Tori still single? Look at that face. She’s the queen of sidewalk struts, professional flower sniffer, and her smile alone could brighten your whole week!
She’s the absolute perfect mix of sparkling personality and sweetness! Tori is your new best friend, cuddle buddy, and partner in crime all in one!!
If you’re ready to add a little fabulous energy (and a lot of love) to your life, Tori’s your girl.
Tori is fully vetted, spayed & chipped. Tori is a SOLO dog & would do best in the home as the only 4 legged. She’s a solid 65lbs, loves people, loves her walks, is a top notch co pilot & so very deserving of a home to call her own.
Tori said “Listen… thick girls cuddle better. It’s science.”

Meet Houdini

Meet Houdini
This handsome boy found himself in lock up and he is AMAZING. His owners never came
He’s a young boy, walks beautifully on a leash, knows some commands & is a great co pilot. He has had no reaction to other dogs, big nor small.

Meet Nya

You might remember our beautiful Akita Layla, nka Nya, that came into lock up in November.
She had been seen wandering the trailer parks in Blue Island for days & was humanely trapped & brought to safety.
Nya was adopted at Thanksgiving. Sadly, she is being returned Her Daddy is keeping her until we can find a new home for her.
Nya is 6 years old & sweet as can be. It hurts our hearts knowing she has to leave her new home & new Daddy
We are seeking an adopter with Akita experience.

Meet Cowboy

Introducing Cowboy
Our Cowboy Corgi (actual breed), came into lock up a couple weeks ago. He was terrified
Thankfully, one of our volunteers brought him home to get him out of the kennels until he is
transferred to rescue or adopted.
Cowboy is a Velcro dog. He follows our volunteer wherever she goes. He loves his toys, his bed & his favorite is snuggle time. He does well with other dogs & pays no attention to cats.

Meet Norm

Introducing Norm
This sweet little boy is so confused. He was said to have been on the lamb since last summer
He is timid, sweet, gets along with other dogs, cats unknown. Norm is about 45-50lbs. He has the most amazing eyes.
Nori is experiencing kennel stress. He needs out NOW. He will receive his vaccinations today & will be available for rescue, foster or adoption immediately.
A quiet & safe home would be perfect for this little boy. He needs serious decompression time. He is learning to trust humans again. Someone wasn’t very nice to him.

Meet Delilah

Introducing Delilah
Delilah truly is the whole package all 38 lbs of her! 💕
She’s happy, sweet, super playful, and absolutely loves her snuggle time. Delilah is having a blast in her foster home, especially with her new Aussie bestie, and she adores other dogs and kiddos just as much. She would LOVE to have a fur brother or sister (or both!) in her forever home.
She is up to date on vaccinations, and her spay and microchip appointment is scheduled. She’ll be going for her “no puppy pledge” this week and will be available for adoption once she’s healed.
Delilah really is the perfect little girl, now she just needs the perfect family (or foster!) to love her forever.

Meet Kane

Introducing Kane
This insanely handsome boy wound up in lock up due to his owners moving
We generally do not accept owner surrenders, however, we made an exception with this boy.
Kane is a SOLID 60+lbs, 6 years old, has a big ole block head & is strong like a bull. His primary language is Spanish so thankfully, we have a handful of volunteers that speak Spanish.
Imagine his confusion. He’s been with his family since he was a puppy & now he’s in a kennel in a loud garage with barking dogs & squad cars in & out all day. AND doesn’t understand the bulk of what our volunteers are saying
We are still getting to know Kane & we’ll leash test him ASAP. Kane will be available for rescue transfer, foster or adoption soon. Please share & say a prayer for this handsome boy.

Meet Maeve

Maeve came into lock up in April of 2023. She was transferred to a no kill shelter in Grayslake shortly after arriving in Blue Island. She is being cared for & is loved very much by the wonderful folks at Save-A-Pet.
Sadly, Maeve is still waiting for her happily ever after She’s been waiting almost 3 YEARS.
Maeve is an 8 year old pointer mix. She’s fully vetted, self sufficient & just needs a home of her own. She has shown to do okay with other dogs, however, due to her long residence in a shelter, a home without other dogs would be ideal for this senior girl.
Interested in learning more about Maeve? Please contact Save a Pet for further information or feel free to contact us & we’ll connect you with them.
Maeve was NOT a senior when she was transferred. Please someone let this girl experience the good life in her golden years
